Movie!

So far I have only recommended books to read but this is a movie worth watching! The title of the movie is "Food Inc." If you haven't watched I would highly recommend it. The only bad part about this movie is that it will make you never want to eat again! I am not kidding! I knew there was bad stuff in our food but I didn't know it was this bad! Our animals aren't getting to live how they are suppose to live. God placed the animals in mans care and we treat them like they are weeds in a garden!

Happy Father's Day!

Today we remember how special our daddies are to us! First off, I have the greatest daddy in the whole world.
I typically ask myself, "What does Daddy mean to me?" So today why don't you tell him how special he is to you! I know it's hard! I don't think I have ever told my daddy how much I love him and how much he means to me. I don't think I could ever put it all down but I wish I could!
If you don't have an earthly daddy there is a heavenly Father who is waiting on you; even if you have a daddy He still wants to be your Father! Today I think we should remember Him too! You can ask yourself the same questions that you asked yourself about your daddy- What does He mean to me? Why don't you spend a couple of minutes with Him. Now I know it might sound a bit crazy that God could be just as loving as your daddy here on earth but it's true!
I thought it would be interesting to list some of the similarities between an earthly daddy and our heavenly Father!
  • Just like our earthly daddies, He is the head - Ephesians 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.
  • We are His children just like we are our daddy's (parents)!- 1 John 3:1 How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

  • Our Heavenly Father wants a relationship with us just like our daddies do.
  • Your daddy cares for you and so does our heavenly Father (Matthew 6:26-Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?)
  • Our daddies sometimes like to give gifts as does our heavenly Father-James 1:17- Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. The greatest gift of all was His Son! John 3:16 For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
These are only some of the similarities between them!
Thanks Daddy for all that you do!

Every time

Every time I kneel to pray I open up my heart to my Lord

Every time I close my eyes I feel the sweet embrace of my Lord

I don't know why so many things seem to get in the way of seeing my God's glory
But I try everyday to see and thank Him for all the things He's given me

Every time I see a child I see the gentleness of my Lord
Every time I watch a storm I know the awesome power of my Lord

I don't know why so many things seem to get in the way of seeing my God's glory
But I try everyday to see and thank Him for all the things He's given me

Every time I see a cross...

This song almost brings me to tears! So many things do get in my way from seeing what He has made!

There Gone!

On Friday my family and I went out of town to see a play with my dad's parents! When we arrived home last night I could barely wait to check on the birds, so I jumped out of the car, ran through to garage and into the house to get the flash light. I went back out into the garage and climbed up to see them! I couldn't wait to see how much they had grown! I peeped in and saw... NOTHING! They were gone! No sign of them anywhere! We don't know what happened to them.
My whole family is quite glum. I am so thankful now that I have pictures of them! All we can say is the Lord knows best. We don't always understand what His plans are but we know that they all work for good! Thank you Lord for those sweet little days we got to enjoy with them!

Update on Our Baby Wrens!

Yesterday the last of the Carolina Wren eggs hatched! We still don't have a Cowbird baby. Here are a few pictures I snatched of them while the mother was out! (They don't really like the flash so I have to do them quickly or in segments)

They're having a wonderful nap!

"Hello There!"

"Oh are you taking a picture of me!"
Isn't this picture cute?

God really knows how to make my day! I am still working on getting one with their mouths open!

Babies!

Last year a family of Carolina Wrens built their nest in our garage and had two babies! We left the nest because it was on a wreath and it looked pretty and now we are paying for that decision because we have Carolina Wrens in our garage again, which my mother did not want to happen (too much stress). This year instead of two eggs we have FIVE one of which was a little larger than the others and was blue not white with red spots! I thought that it was a little strange that she would lay a different looking egg so I researched it! It was not a Carolina Wren it was a Brown Headed Cowbird egg! It seems that Brown Headed Cowbirds come and infest other birds nests! I then learned that there was a 31percent chance that the wren babies might not make it because the Cowbird has a shorter incubation period than the wrens, so by the time the wrens hatched the Cowbird would be a lot bigger and would suffocate the Wrens! We then had to decide whether or not we were going to let the Cowbird egg live. We decided to leave it in God's hands and see what He decides to do! This morning two of the five babies hatched! They were both wren babies! I learned a lot more about Cowbirds and Wrens when I researched it but I will leave it to you to find out more if you are interested!
Here are some pictures of them I took!

This is the momma wren from last year! Wasn't she nice to pose for me!

This is their sweet humble abode!

Here they are! The egg in front is the Cowbird egg and the other egg that you can barely see is the Wren egg!
I will try to get some more pictures soon but the Mother likes to be with her children so it is hard to take them! Also the location of the nest makes it rather difficult to take a picture.
I think they are just adorable!

~Psalm 148~

1 Praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD from the heavens,
praise him in the heights above.

2 Praise him, all his angels,
praise him, all his heavenly hosts.

3 Praise him, sun and moon,
praise him, all you shining stars.

4 Praise him, you highest heavens
and you waters above the skies.

5 Let them praise the name of the LORD,
for he commanded and they were created.

6 He set them in place for ever and ever;
he gave a decree that will never pass away.

7 Praise the LORD from the earth,
you great sea creatures and all ocean depths,

8 lightning and hail, snow and clouds,
stormy winds that do his bidding,

9 you mountains and all hills,
fruit trees and all cedars,

10 wild animals and all cattle,
small creatures and flying birds,

11 kings of the earth and all nations,
you princes and all rulers on earth,

12 young men and maidens,
old men and children.

13 Let them praise the name of the LORD,
for his name alone is exalted;
his splendor is above the earth and the heavens.

14 He has raised up for his people a horn,
the praise of all his saints,
of Israel, the people close to his heart.
Praise the LORD.

Don't we serve an awesome Creator!

Safely Home

Hey everyone,

I thought I would recommend an excellent book called, 'Safely Home'. It is written by Randy Alcorn and I absolutely loved it! Here is the intriguing excerpt from the back cover:

"Is this the day I die?"
Quan stiffened at the shout
behind him.The voice rang with
the authority of the Gong An Ju,
the Public Security Bureau. "You
meet in the night like the criminals
you are. How dare you defy the
law? In three minutes," Scarbrow
said matter-of-factly, " we will
shoot every man and woman-and
child-who does not declare
himself loyal to the people rather
than the gweilos, foreign devils."

"Surely this is the day."

American Business executive
Ben Fielding has no idea what his
brilliant old college roommate is
facing in China. But when they're
reunited in China after twenty
years, the men are shocked at what
they discover about each other.

Thrown together in an hour of
encroaching darkness, watched
by unseen eyes, both must make
choices that will determine not only
the destinies of the two men, but two
families,two nations...
and two worlds.

This was a very eye opening novel and I encourage everyone to read it! If you have read it I would love to hear your opinion.

God Bless!

What if We're Holograms?

This was an article that was published in my local news paper!

NEW YORK (AP) - Brian Greene works in a world where scientific reasoning rules all and imagination leads to the most unlikely truths.

Greene and other "string theorists" are exploring a possible scenario in which people and the world around us are actually a 3-D holographic projection of two-dimensional data that exists outside the accessible universe.

It's a concept so mind bending for those who don't understand the complex math behind it that many might decide it's best left to the academics.

It is almost as difficult to wrap one's head around as the possibility that we are all holograms projected over a distance, unable to detect the illusory nature of our 3-D world - another topic covered by a festival panel.

Greene's attempt to explain where our consciousness might reside, if we are indeed simply projections, is intriguing and perhaps less than comforting:

"It's there, too," he says. "Consciousness is nothing but the physical processes taking place in the brain. ... Consciousness is just another interaction of particles."

My brother read this article and these verses to our church:

~Habakkuk 1:1-2, 4-5~

1 The oracle that Habakkuk the prophet received.

2 How long, O LORD, must I call for help,
but you do not listen?
Or cry out to you, "Violence!"
but you do not save?

4 Therefore the law is paralyzed,
and justice never prevails.
The wicked hem in the righteous,
so that justice is perverted.

The Lord 's Answer
5 "Look at the nations and watch—
and be utterly amazed.
For I am going to do something in your days
that you would not believe,
even if you were told.

~Habakkuk 2:1-3, 18-20~

1 I will stand at my watch
and station myself on the ramparts;
I will look to see what he will say to me,
and what answer I am to give to this complaint.

The LORD's Answer
2 Then the LORD replied:
"Write down the revelation
and make it plain on tablets
so that a herald
may run with it.

3 For the revelation awaits an appointed time;
it speaks of the end
and will not prove false.
Though it linger, wait for it;
it
will certainly come and will not delay.

18 "Of what value is an idol, since a man has carved it?
Or an image that teaches lies?
For he who makes it trusts in his own creation;
he makes idols that cannot speak.

19 Woe to him who says to wood, 'Come to life!'
Or to lifeless stone, 'Wake up!'
Can it give guidance?
It is covered with gold and silver;
there is no breath in it.

20 But the LORD is in his holy temple;
let all the earth be silent before him."

~Genesis 1:1~

(My brother did not read this one)

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

After my brother read this my friend punched me and whispered in my ear "Nope not a hologram!" I think it's a rather silly idea! I don't know about you but I don't want to be a hologram! I would rather believe in God than in a scientist crazy idea!

P.S. If a pregnant lady goes in for a ultra sound and sees her baby on the screen how is that a reflection? The answer is, it can't be! Think about it for a moment! Something living inside of a woman or animal can't be a reflection!
