Question

My mother asked the question "What is your favorite name for Jesus?" My daddy and I both said "We hadn't really ever thought about it before." After thinking about it for awhile I said "Messiah, Mighty Councilor, and Savior of the World." So I am asking you, do you have a favorite name for Jesus is?Post a comment with your answer!
Here are some of His names and were to find them in the Bible:
King of kings (1 Tim 6:15; Rev. 19:16)
Lord of lords (Rev. 1:18)
I am (John 8:58)
Lamb of God (John 1:29)
Lion of the tribe of Judah (Rev. 5:5)
Good Shepherd (John 10:11, 14)
Light of the World (John 8:12)
True Vine (John 15:1)
Savior (Eph. 5:23; Titus 1:4; 3:6; 2 Peter 2:20)
Immanuel ( Mt. 1:23)

I hope you all are enjoying this Christmas season! With all the parties, decorating, gift opening, and family gathering, I hope you don't forget the reason for this season!
We have FINALLY finished decorating our house and are now sitting back and enjoying it. This year we have truly tried to focus on the birth of Jesus and not so much on the gift giving. I thought I would share some pics from around our house!

Merry Christmas to all of you! May God bless you and keep you safe throughout the holidays.

The True Meaning of Christmas

As Christmas grows closer, everyone is in a frantic frenzy trying to get everything bought and wrapped, baking all of the wonderful treats that only come around at this time of year, and traveling to see family! Yet in the back of everyone's mind is the true meaning of Christmas. The birth of our Savior Christ Jesus! The best gift of all!
One of the traditions my family does is buying and decorating a Christmas tree! It's something my family looks forward to at Christmas! One of my brothers made the comment that our Christmas tree is ugly if it isn't lit up, but when it is, the whole tree looks lovely! That is just like the world! The world is a dark place because it is full of sin but when Jesus enters our lives there is a wonderful light because Jesus is the Light of the World!
John 8:12: "When Jesus spoke again to the people, He said 'I am the Light of the World. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the Light of Life.'"
Christmas is one of the only times when people aren't offended if you mention Jesus' name. Everyone attends church and listens to sermons on Jesus' birth, death, and resurrection!
I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!
In Christ,
~Mac
P.S. There may not be any more posts until the new year because Kat and I will probably be busy; so,Happy New Year if I don't post until 2010!

Fun Decorations!

On Saturday my mother was looking at a website that showed how to make 3D snow
flakes, so we decided to make some for our house! They look awesome and extremely
complicated! The cool thing about them is they aren't hard to make at all!
This is a picture of the first one I made!

After I made this one I got out some foil wrapping paper that my daddy and
I had bought earlier in the day at Hobby Lobby and made this one!
We have a lots of snow flakes around the house now! Our family loves decorating! Especially at this time of year!
Here is a picture of our stockings

My daddy made this ornament a couple of years ago!
I would post a picture of the ornament I made last year but I can't find the
ornament so I can't take a picture of it.

Prayer Request

Yesterday I learned that Mrs. Duggar had her 19th child three months early. Cable network TLC says 43-year-old Michelle Duggar gave birth to a 1-pound, 6-ounce daughter Thursday night during an emergency cesarean section. She'd been due March 18. The baby is in stable condition right now but there are a lot of side affects that can come with being this early! Please pray for the Duggar family and their baby.

Awesome Book Series!

I am going to get off of the Christmas page for a second and share with you some of my favorite books!
The Kingdom Series
by Chuck Black
book #1
book #2
book #3
book #4
book #5
book #6
The Kingdoms Series is an allegory of the Bible using Knights in a made-up land with Battles, Faith, and Courage! I really liked books three and six but they are all really good! (I have actually read book six twice! I am planing on reading them again soon!) I don't know if you like knights or not but these are some extremely good books!

White Christmas

As my first Christmas post I wanted to share one of our favorite Christmas songs!

White Christmas
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas,
Just like the ones I used to know.
Where the tree-tops glisten,
And children listen
To hear
sleighbells in the snow.

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas,
With every Christmas card I write,
"May your days be merry and bright,
And may all your Christmases be white".

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas,
Just like the ones I used to know.
Where the tree-tops glisten,
And children listen
To hear
sleighbells in the snow.

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas,
With every Christmas card I write,
"May your days be merry and bright,
And may all your Christmases be white".

Kat and I love this song and the movie White Christmas!
While this time of year is full of decorations and fun let's not forget the true meaning of Christmas- Jesus' birthday (at least it's the day we celebrate it on).

Just A Closer Walk With Thee

Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea.
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

I am weak, but Thou art strong
Jesus, keep me from all wrong.
I'll be satisfied as long
As I walk let me walk close to Thee

In this world of toil and snares,
If I falter, Lord, who cares?
Who but Thee my burden shares?
None but Thee, oh Lord, none but Thee.

When my feeble life is o'er
Time for me will be more no more
Guide me gently, safely o'er
To Thy kingdom shore to Thy shore

When my weary life is o'er
Pain and suff'ring are no more.
Who will lead me safely o'er
Canaan's shore,
That sweet Canaan's shore.

I would love to hear what some of your favorite christian songs are! Feel free to leave a comment!

Let it snow!

Yippee! We got little snow earlier today! I was so excited! I just love to see snow fall!I was disappointed that it didn't stick, but it was SNOW! When I awakened this morning I learned that Kat's little sister and my little sister had set a trap for a raccoon! To our amazement they caught one! He was huge!(I don't know if it was a male or female so I just went with a male! =D) We decided to let it go instead of killing it! I am sorry to say that I didn't get a picture of it. Oh, I almost forgot to say that we (Kat, my brother, and I) played a round of Yahtzee in which I won! Games are so much fun to play when you can't go outside! If you haven't played Yahtzee you are missing out on a lot of fun!

Just a little update on me!

I'm sick! Okay I have a little cold, nothing extreme! I am thankful it came after thanksgiving not on thanksgiving or before! I would have been so sad if I had been sick on thanksgiving!
Besides being sick, I am visiting my grandparents and cousins for a week and a half! I LOVE visiting them, we have so much fun! It's really nice to relax and not have to set an alarm clock! =D Other than what I mentioned above nothing is really going on! Oh! One more thing! Kat is going to have a piano recital at a retirement center on Saturday and I get to go, but I will let her tell you about it! Heehee! Maybe she will post pictures of where she did it! Please pray that she won't be nervous! Kat has to go on stage without her music and I know from previous experience that if you mess up it is really humiliating!

I'm Thankful for... (belated)

I'm thankful for my house! It's so nice to have a roof over my head! So many people don't have a house and have to live outside in the cold and rain. I think sometimes I take for granted how blessed I am to have a house! Thank you Lord for blessing me with a warm house!
In Christ,
~Mac
P.S. sorry this is belated! I didn't have the time to post, because I am visiting my grandparents and we were preparing for thanksgiving! So thank you for being patient!

I'm Thankful for...

I'm thankful for the Soldiers who have served and died to protect my freedom in the past, present, and future! I can't tell you how grateful I am to have people willing to protect this nation! I mentioned I am thankful for those who have served in the past because I am grateful for those who made the U.S.A. through the revolution and for those who have died in more recent wars but are not currently serving in the one right now! I want to give a special little thank you to my grandpa and grand bob for serving this country! You guys are the best grandpas a girl could have!
Thank you for serving this country in what ever station in the war you have or are in!
In Christ,
~Mac

I'm Thankful for...

I'm thankful for my friends! I have the greatest friends a person could ask for! It is so nice to have friends that love the Lord with all their hearts! I have friends that range in ages from 1 to... (I'm not really sure! =D) Thank you Lord for my friends!
Here are a few friendship quotes that portray my friendships!
"A friend is one who knows us, but loves us anyway."
~ Jerome Cummings
A true friend is someone who is there for you when he'd rather be anywhere else.
~ Len Wein
"Friends are the chocolate chips in the cookie of life."
~Anonymous
"True friendship is like sound health; the value of it is seldom known until it be lost."
~ Charles Caleb Colton

“A friend is a hand that is always holding yours, no matter how close or far apart you may be. A friend is someone who is always there and will always, always care. A friend is a feeling of forever in the heart.

~ Anonymous ( I could find who wrote it)

A true friend is the greatest of all blessings, and that which we take the least care to acquire. - La Rochefoucauld

Who finds a faithful friend, finds a treasure. - Jewish Saying

A true friend is someone you can disagree with and still remain friends. For if not, they weren't true friends in the first place. - Sandy Ratliff

There are a lot more quotes but I liked these the best!

If you asked me what a true friend was I would say "A true friend will stick by you to the end no matter what!" I think my two closest friends (Lauren and Bridget) would do that!
Thanks Lauren and Bridget for being such awesome friends!
Praise the Lord for Friends!
In Christ,
~Mac
P.S. sorry about the funky writting and white spot! I have no idea what happened! =D
Note all of the quotes above were off of different sights from Google.

I'm Thankful for...

I'm thankful for the country I live in! What I am most thankful about the U.S.A. is that I can worship freely in it! I am thankful that I don't have to worry about where I keep my Bible. I am thankful that I can openly speak about Jesus and the Gospel. I am thankful that I won't be taken to prison because I chose to follow Jesus. It makes me sad to think that my brothers and sisters in Christ can't worship as freely as I can. We need to thank God for letting us live in a safe country, but also remember to pray for them! One of the main things I have heard them say is "When we are weak, He is strong." They also ask us to pray for them; not for their release (though they would like to be free) but that they would be strong and and not give in!
Praise the Lord for the freedom He as so richly blessed me with!
In Christ,
~Mac

4 Days Left

Today my best friend is coming to help me baby sit my siblings.I am so thankful that I met her!She is the most wonderful friend I could ever ask for. We always have the best times together. Yes, you could say we are a bit wild and goofy but we enjoy being this way and having a good time. Of course we know when to be quiet and pay attention to things but when were together we just love to laugh. I think laughing is one of the most wonderful things in life as well! I never feel awkward and there definately is never a quiet moment when were together! We love each other and are just as close as sisters!

5 Days Left

This morning as I awakened I realize how thankful I am for sleep/rest! lol..... Ok that's not really what I was going to write about! ha!ha!........ I am thankful for my siblings. Yes, we do fight and argue like any brothers and sisters but we really do love each other. We love to tease each other but of course we can behave as well. ha! They are so much fun even if some are younger than me. But even the younger ones have a humor of there own! Yes, I would say they are my best friends!

I'm Thankful for...

I'm thankful for my Dogs, Coco and Butterscotch!
My dogs mean a lot to me! Some people would probably say that I am a little crazy with them but they are my best little buddies. It's so nice to have friends that don't talk so I can tell them all of my problems and they won't say anything, they just give you a nice, kind, and understanding look as if to say "We understand!"

Though we don't always get along that great(=D), we still love each other! We have been and will always be friends forever!

6 Days Left!

Ok so I have guessed you've noticed I have only made one post on my countdown. Well let me tell ya... I'VE BEEN BUSY! With thanksgiving just around the corner and other stuff this month it's been crazy!! Also meetings and school have really made my time tight this week. I have started this book called Thinking Like a Christian. What I have seen so far from it I highly recomend. (once you get past the first day)lol.... there is some brainstorming in the beginning so don't freak out if you buy the book! The book is designed to show you how to understand and apply a Christian Worldview to things.

and....... as your wondering... I am thankful for MY FAMILY. Ok I don't want to just say they have done so much for me so... how shall I put this? From the moment I was born they have showered me with unconditional love and devoted hours to me by doing everything for me as a baby and as I became older they have taken me places and helped me so much! The most important thing though is that they have taught me to know Jesus and to live my life for Him. That's the most important thing of all. I have always been extremely close to my grandparents as well and we live very close to them so they have been and enormous part of my life too!! as well as my great greandma! Also I can't forget my cousins and aunt and uncle!! They mean so much to me as well!!!!Thank you for being there for me and being the best family I could every ask for!!

~Kat

I'm Thankful for...

I am Thankful for...

Day #2
I am thankful for my Savior dying for the whole world! He didn't want to die, but because of His love for His Father and His love for us; He died. If He had not died for us we would all live in hell for eternity, but now He has given us the option to live eternally with him! I hope that you have or will except His amazing grace!

Tis the season to be thankful, Fa la la la la, la la la la... Okay maybe that is a Christmas song but it fits! I will be posting what I am thankful for until thanksgiving! We should actually be thankful all year but this is the main time of year, it seems, that we are most thankful.
Day #1
I am thankful for an awesome, loving, all powerful, and all-knowing God! I am thankful for His love for us and sending His only Son to die for my sins!
Praise the Lord for what he has done for us!

11 Days Left!

Alright...what am I thankful for? Well first of all I am so extremely thankful for the opportunity to know, worship, serve, and love the God of the entire universe who loves us so dearly. I like to think about how awesome it is that we are given the chance to know Him. Just think we pray and sometimes hear the voice of the same God who spoke with Adam and Eve, Noah, Abraham, David and all the other marvelous followers of Christ in the Bible. Of course that's not what matters but it's just fun and amazing to think of this. What's important though is that He wants to talk, know, and take care of us. He is giving us the chance to follow Him. Just think of one of your hero's. Ok I assume you are thinking of one now....what would you do if that person said," Come follow me and be my friend and I will give you an amazing place to live beyond all your wildest dreams." Well I don't know about you but I would certainly be tempted. We need to have that same excitement about God. I know sometimes it's hard to have the same enthusiastic attitude about following God as you have when keeping up with one of your hero's, but we should definitely have the same attitude. We should be ashamed when we feel this way. I know I do. So today Lord will you forgive me when I foolishly feel this way? I know we all falter and loose enthusiasm but I am going to do my utmost best to thank you for all I have and to follow you and read your word without complaining.
Here are some scripture about giving thanks. Psalms 75:1 which talks of men praising the wonderful deeds of the Lord, Psalms 136 ...while you read it you become amazed at what all God has done for us over the years, 1 Chronicles 16:8 again this reinforces how much we need to praise His name and let it be know how He has blessed us.

Are you willing to die for Christ?

Sister Chen

Are we willing to die for the Lord? That is a difficult question. A question that can be answered however is, are we willing to live for Him?

Sister Suk Wan was such a believer. She lived for the Lord, faithfully and courageously. She was arrested for her faith and thrown into prisons were she was beaten and tortured. She became seriously ill and requested to be brought to the town square to speak to the people. (People were often brought there to be shown to the public in order to deny the faith or to undergo self-criticism trials.) The organizers were convinced she wanted to deny her faith before she would die. Two policemen helped her onto the stage. She could hardly stand. She had bruises all over her face. She gathered her last strength and cried, "To God be the glory. Jesus is my Lord." Then she collapsed and died. She could die for the Lord because she had lived for Him.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing" (2 Timothy 4:7-8).

Are you willing to die for Christ? I have never been persecuted like Sister Suk Wan, but I often ask myself the question; would I be willing to die for Christ? I don't think I would die for Him, I know I would, though it wouldn't be easy! Jesus tells us that we are going to be persecution and we are. You may not feel the persecution yourself but WE as a body of believers are! We can't ignore our brethren! Pray for them, and write to them letters of encouragement! If you need help not knowing how to write to them visit the Voice of the Martyrs.

Why God?

This is a really common question. Why does God let suffering and death happen if He is a loving and caring God?
If you'll look back in Genesis 1, God created a perfect world which means that there wasn't any death or suffering. When Adam and Eve took the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil and ate it, they brought destruction on the whole world. (Genesis 3). Because they sinned and because we continue sinning, there is death and suffering. It isn't God's fault! If it wasn't for God sending us his only Son whom he loved so much, we would all be destined to living in Hell for eternity! God didn't have to send us his Son, but He did. He loved us that much!He uses a description of marriage as a way to show us how much He loves us. He loves us like a man does his wife. I am not married but I can see the love my parents have for each other and through them can catch a small glimpse of how much He loves me! I can't imagine being God and sending my only child to die for everyone's sins! I for one don't know if I could send my brother to die for everyone on this planet. I am so thankful that He sent his Son because I don't want to live forever in a fire pit with weeping and gnashing of teeth. If He loves us that much then why is it so hard for us to devote at least 5, 10,30 minutes to Him? I encourage you to spend more time reading His word that He has given us, praying, and singing praise to him!
In Christ, to whom I am forever indebted,

The Trial of Jesus

I listened to a sermon a while back on the trial of Jesus. We had to act like we didn't know who Jesus was. So I am going to ask you to view this article as if you haven't heard of Jesus. If you have been wondering if he is really was the Son of God or not; I hope this will help you!

The Trial of Jesus
You have the responsibility as members of the jury to render a verdict which is fair and impartial. Your verdict should be based upon the evidence presented in this trial and carefully read over what the witnesses say.
The Witnesses
  1. John the Baptist- John 1:29 "The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, 'Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!'"
  2. Simon Peter- Matthew 16:16 "Simon Peter answered , 'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.'"
  3. John the Apostle- John 1:14 "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."
  4. Martha Friend of Jesus- John 11:27 "'Yes, Lord,' she told him, 'I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world.'"
  5. The Apostle Paul- Romans 1:4 "And who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power of the Son of God by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord."
  6. Angel From Heaven- Luke 2:11 "Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord."
  7. Jehovah God- Matthew 17:5 "While he was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said, 'This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him.'"
  8. Pharisees- Luke 15:2 "But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, 'This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.'"
  9. Ciaphas Chief Priest of Israel- Matthew 26:63-65 "The high priest said to him,' I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of the God.' Yes, it is as you say, ' Jesus replied. 'But I say to all of you : In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.' Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, 'He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Look, now you have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?'"
  10. Roman Centurion in charge of Crucifying Jesus - Mark 15:39 "And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, heard his cry and saw how he died, he said , ' Surely this man was the Son of God!'"
  11. Pilate Roman Governor of Israel- Luke 23:13-14 "Pilate called together the chief priests, the rulers and the people, and said to them, 'You brought me this man as one of who was inciting the people to rebellion. i have examined him in your presence and have found no basis for your charges against him.'" (also you can look at Matthew 27:11-24)
  12. Judas Iscariot Betrayer of Jesus- Matthew 27:4 "'I have sinned,' he said,'for I have betrayed innocent blood."
  13. Demon from the Dark Abyss- Mark 1:24 "' What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you came to destroy us? I know who you are- the Holy One of God!'"
What will you do with Jesus who is called the Christ? LIAR____ or THE SON OF GOD____
I hope that this helped you decide. I encourage you to read the Gospel over and over again! If we really want to be like our Rabbi than we need to know what he said, because that is the only way we are going to know what we need to act like.
In Christ,
~Mac

Tragedy at Fort Hood and the Importance of Life

On Thursday, November 5, 2009, an army psychiatrist opened fire in Fort Hood killing 12 and wounding 31.
Please pray for the families of the people that were killed! Also, pray for the doctors that will be working on the wounded.
Talking about death makes me think about life and how precious it is. Life is so precious! I think death is one of the main things that can make us worry. It comforts me to know that my Heavenly Father knows how long I will live and I don't need to worry because his Son has told me not to. When someone in my family dies or a friend's family member dies it makes me think about my life! Am I treating every one with love and respect? When someone dies it make me want to be close to my family because I don't know how much longer they will be here on this earth or how much longer I will be here.

My Favorite Hymn

HOW GREAT THOU ART

Verse 1

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

(Chorus)
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

Verse 2
And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

(Chorus )

Verse 3.
When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"

(Chorus)

To me this is the most beautiful hymn there is!! The lyrics and just the sound of the song itself is so overwhelmingly lovely! Of course I have more favorites but when I hear this one it seems like I could lift off and fly to heaven.

Love

I've been thinking lately about what it means to love. Not love as in romance but love for one another. There are many ways we can "show" love but do we actually mean it in our hearts. When we say I love you do we say it to hopefully receive something in return or do we really mean it with all our heart? It's always easy to remember to say I love you when someone buys us something, but do we ever say it for no reason but to show that person we love them and truly appreciate them? I know this is something I need to work on. It seems I'm always too busy to stop.. slow down... and say ,"Mom thank you for all that you do for me." or "I really do love you ___.." We really desperately need to sincerely show one another we love them because wouldn't it be horrible to wake up one morning and find out that person has passed away!!!! I encourage you to join me in showing your family, friends, and the world that we love them!!

Fun yet Tiring Day

This morning when I woke up (because of my alarm clock) I read my bible, ate breakfast, then it was off to my first tennis lesson! I had played tennis before with my siblings and daddy but I hadn't ever taken lessons. I was a little nervous at first but after awhile I adjusted! It was really fun!!!! We had a contest the team who could hit the ball over the net 10 times the quickest won and the looser had to run a lap around all three courts. The teams were backhand swing team and forward hand swing team. I was put on the backhand swing team. My team lost. :( So I got to run around the whole court, luckily I like running. Besides having to run around the whole court I can't wait for next week! After lunch we couldn't help ourselves and had to go to the park and play tennis. It's surprising what a couple of tips will do. I did much better than I had ever done!
After getting home I was informed that one of my brothers and I would be doing supper. We had the argument "What to cook!" Finally, after a couple of ideas, my little sister (the only sister I have) volunteered to cook grilled cheeses. I didn't really want to cook so after a little persuasion from my mother to make up my mind, I said "Okay." So all in all it has been a fun yet tiring day.

Pecans and Mosquitoes

Hey everyone! Today we picked up pecans beneath the mosquito infested trees!! I bet I have a million bites! All the rain we've had has caused them to be numerous and ferocious. lol... We collected a couple buckets full and will have plenty of pecans for pecan pies and other delicious food on Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I absolutely love spending time with my family! Our Thanksgiving is actually a family reunion so there are lots and lots of people who come!
Hasn't God blessed us with the most beautiful weather? It has been wonderful outside! Hopefully it will last until Thanksgiving! Well...the piano is calling me...I have my first recital in Dec....yes you heard right...my very first piano recital. I am just NOW learning to play! lol

New Blog

Hey everyone! Kat made a new blog, Beautiful Elegant Designs! On it she will be posting how to dress modestly but fashionable at the same time. Go check it out! She just started it so you will have to bare with her. Not to mention that it is probably better that she is doing it and not me because I am not that fashionable and I would run out of ideas rather quickly! :D

P.S. She will be posting on here too!! If she doesn't... :D

It is Possible!!!

Yippee!!!! I finished the 90 day Bible! I actually finished it a week and a day ago from today! I was so excited because that was my first time to read the entire Bible! What was even more exciting about it was I finished it on my birthday! I wanted to let everyone know that it is possible to do and I wasn't just posting about it because it sounded like a neat idea. I hope that you will consider doing reading it in 90 days if you haven't already. It was so amazing how everything started to fitting together. I learned so much!

I'm a ....... robot??

Hey everyone! I have been thinking lately about our lesson in Sunday school last week. It was about Timothy and Peter as well as seeking the truth. Timothy and Peter were compared and when we read the scriptures we realized there was a great difference between the two. Timothy would ask questions whenever he didn't understand something. Peter on the other hand was very quick to act(like when he cut of the soldiers ear). Peter didn't seem to stop and think before replying and taking action. When questioned about being a follower of Jesus he quickly answered and readily denied his faith. Once again he was quick to act and later regreted it. When Timothy didn't understand he would question until he understood. We need to be more like Timothy. We need to quit taking everything we hear for truth. Unless it's reading the scripture. How often do we just believe everything we hear and never question. We seem to be robots (yes master... whatever you say...I hear and obey).Like when listening to the news, reading the newspaper, or even when we're just talking to someone. It seems this happens all the time. We need to stand up and say...hey..I'm not sure that's true...or that doesn't sound right..I need to check up on that.

I would like to recomend two OUTSTANDING BOOKS that I have found!! They have helped me understand more about how to stop, think, then reply. Here they are...

THE FALLACY DETECTIVE..

and...THE THINKING TOOLBOX!!

Both are exceedingly helpful and extremely easy to understand! They have really helped me learn to know when to question something they have problems with real life examples!! I encourage everyone to read these books!
